What’s my story?
How I got here
I began my career in a small design agency with a focus on bespoke on-trend design work. From there I followed my passion for music to street press publication Drum Media where I learned about deadlines and multitasking on another level. With some experience under my belt and wanting a new challenge, I established digital design agencies Alternate Insight and The Make Room where I managed staff, client relationships and all project management. After 10+ years running agencies I missed doing the design work I loved so much and decided to go freelance. Now I get to focus on working with clients I respect and jobs that I'm passionate about contributing to.
My design experience
I have over 15 years of experience working as both a print and digital designer across diverse industries including music, fashion, politics, health/pharma, finance, corporate, unions and not-for-profits, to name a few. As a result, I'm skilled at interpreting and fleshing out complex briefs and working with multiple stakeholders.
My philosophy
I believe clear accessible communication is key to working collaboratively with my clients and exceeding their expectations. This means no unnecessary lingo - being open, direct and flexible. It also means running a tight ship - meeting deadlines and staying within budget. I'm passionate about design and its role in positive social change and making the world a more enjoyable and visually beautiful place. I especially enjoy working for clients whose cause I respect.
Outside of design, I'm into hanging out with my daughter in nature, growing food and studying Indigenous Knowledge.
